How is the start of my first chapter going for my children's story? Help please?!!!!?

It's really good. I don't mean to sound fastidious but 'ginourmous' isn't a word. I don't know if that was intentional though and it wouldn't have annoyed me 5 years ago when I believed it was a word but it bugs me a little now. However I'm not the target market and would have loved something like this to read only a short while ago!
