Does one ever feel like they raised their children to be TOO independent?

The only time I hear from from them is when they need my help because they're smack dab in the middle of some crisis that I WOULD have been able to advise them on how to avoid, if they had come to me before it became unmanageable! By the time they contact me, there's little I can do to help...and then I feel guilty.
