Ideas for long, unmanageable hair.?

My hair is Almost to my waist and it is thick, wavy, very heavy, and very soft which makes it nearly untamable and flat at the top. I was wondering if anyone knew any good blogs or tutorials on managing long hair. I don't want to have to chop it!
