My hair has become unmanageable! Help!?

i used to have thick,shiny,soft hair... everyone used to admire my pony......but 4 years ago, it started becoming little rough...... and now its so rough that its hard to comb and its falling too..... i cant get my once beautiful hair back ....can i? what to dooooo... :( :( help
