Has anyone tried Dry shampoo?

I tried Tresemme dry shampoo and was really disappointed. I thought it would be different. My hair was left totally unmanageable and feeling like a bundle of wire and hay...is this what all dry shampoo is like? Should I give up on it, or does anyone know of any better brands?
